Fungal Maze central chamber grate cannot be interacted with

I have duplicated the issue reported here:

My kobold is stuck in the central chamber. Admittedly he lacks skills other than feasting on the flesh of the warm-bloods, but the only possible way out he can find is the central "Secret Grate" that cannot be interacted with.
