Suicidal Xvart
The Xvart have a tendencie to madness, but I believe that them casting 'inflict x wound' upon themselfs when harmed is a bit overdoing it.

I too have seen it... It made me giggle, and .... I have no problem with this.. even if its not supposed to happen.... 
Maybe the Xvart rolled a 1.. maybe it is self-flagellating, maybe it went psycho.... we dunno... :p

It's not just Xvarts, it's every cleric NPC. It's hardcoded into their AI if they have that spell iirc, I was told about it a while back.

Sounds like clerics in danger auto-spontaneous cast themselves, and evil isn't checked for.
