Linking the prices of npc shops with the towns stocks

We will file suggestions here that did not make the cut. Don't expect detailed responses, but the most common reasons are:

  • implementing the suggestion is impractical, or too much work for the gain
  • the suggestion is thematically against our design philosophy
  • the suggestion is too detailed/low-level
Keep your suggestions broad and focused on RP benefits, please, not detailed suggestions of how to fix everything.

Linking the prices of npc shops with the towns stocks

Post by The Man of the Moon »

LIVING MERCHANT PRICES

Any chance the prices SELLING AND buying items on shops may increase and decrease in a linked rate with the stocked resources in each settlement?

Like... When the settlement were going low on metal, then the smithers will buy weapons at a higher price (let's say till 300 gp max / item), but when there is a lot of metal stocked, the prices of bought will fall to something like 100 gp max/item)

Also, that may affect to the real prices of the goods the npc shops have, by increasing or decreasing by as much like +/- 50% their standard prices.
Disclaimer: All what I write are simple opinions of a player and always with honest intention to contribute constructively and from respect, but with a poor knowledge of English.

Thank you

No, because this will mess with the trade route stuff and can lead to merchants in a town buying stuff for more than they sell things for.
