Generalist with a prohibited school?

I play the toon Jay Maybe, and it seems I have a prohibited school even though I chose to be a generalist.

For a noob can you be more specific? I assume this is a class choice?

Yes. I chose wizard and didn't choose a specialty, but it still gave me a prohibited school (meaning spells I can't learn) for it.

Is your current school Necromancy, is that stated on the character sheet? Does it say Generalists somewhere? Did you perhaps take Spellsword Path and picked prohibited schools that way?

It just says wizard. I have no school specialty feat in my character sheet. I didn't take Spellsword.

You should be able to see your school on the sheet, as seen on this image:

If it says Generalists and you cant use Divination then something is off with your PC and you should ask a DM to help you out, either by creating a new PC, have them boost you to your current level. If it does say Necromancy there maybe we can create a tool to swap schools for you but I think it would just be easier to recreate it with a DM help.
