Staff Appreciation Thread

I know that the devs, and the DMs, and the various other staff members that keep Arelith running, regularly tend to get angry flak from disgruntled players, with precious little in the way of positive reactions to go along with it (at least compared to the volume of negative reactions). But...that isn't how it should be.

So, I wanted to take a moment to say: Thank you. Thank you for making Arelith. A place I continually love creating stories with other people and meeting new friends to roleplay with. Thank you for your commitment to fairness, game balance, and proactive involvement with your playerbase. Thank you for constantly working to improve and expand the server so it continually evolves and remains interesting to explore.

I've been to a few other indie RP servers on various games, and I've been to a handful of LARPs, and I have a decent idea of the difference between good DMs, and selfish DMs. So far, my interactions with the Arelith DMs have always been the former. After coming from servers and games where the DMs had 0 concern from the views of their players, and where player choices/creativity had 0 effect on whatever plot the DM was running (usually poorly written, railroad McGuffin fetch stories), Arelith has been a breath of fresh air. Here, player choices change the face of government, create alliances, and spark wars. Here, when a player does something unexpected but clever, DMs reward the act, rather than punish the PC for acting outside of the pre-scripted plan.

Please continue doing what you are doing, Staff of Arelith, because I love the end-product of your work, and greatly appreciate your dedication to making an engaging and lively multiplayer game.
