Writ: The Lost Tunnels Sewage Golem replaced with Rust Monster

Post by Orian_666 »

The Writ "The Lost Tunnels" boss monster "Sewage Golem" has been replaced with a new boss "Rust Monster", love the new monster by the way, the problem here is that on the writ the required kill is still a Sewage Golem which to my knowledge so far doesn't spawn anymore. Apparently "extra" ones have a rare chance of spawning in the boss room but frankly a writ shouldn't depend on the rare chance of a mob spawning so i'm just going to go ahead and assume this was a simple oversight.

Steps to reproduce
----------------------------
Take the Writ "The Lost Tunnels", go to the area to complete it, kill some monsters get to boss room, etc etc.

Expected result
-----------------------
Kill everything you need to kill, Golem spawns, kill that too.

Actual result
-------------------
Kill everything, Rust Monster spawns instead of Golem, quest is never complete.

Notes
---------
I think it's a safe assumption that this was just an oversight, and most likely a known bug, but I just wanted to post this anyway just in case.

I had this problem too. I thought I was just being old and crazy (back in my day! *fist shake*) because I found a sewer golem closer to the kobold entrance but apparently that was a fluke.

Either adjusting the writ or the sewer golem spawn rates both work for this.

I checked the entire area, all the way to the Iron Mine entrance and couldn't find one.
Then I went back to the previous area and waited for respawns and went back in, found one golem when I went back in thankfully.

But yea, adjusting the writ or the sewer golem spawns would be the simplest fix, I honestly think the writ was meant to be adjusted but it was just forgotten or something, these things happen.

Either way the Rust Monster is pretty cool to see :)

Rust monster is always there. Golems are occasionally. Definitely needs swapping around.

In the mean time, the best way I have found of increasing the odds of getting a Golem massively (From almost never to virtually always) is to go with more than one person to force the difficulty of the spawns up.

Could be fluke, but it seems to work.

Just going to chime in here and note that it's still being a little strange. Even the sewage golem's death (when you manage to find one) is sometimes not enough to satisfy the all-consuming hunger of this writ.

It got caught in a fireball AoE. I'm unsure if that contributed, given it counted just fine yesterday when killed in the usual, waving-a-summon at it manner.
