Andunorian Cage Bonuses: Too Much, please re-balance them.

The Andunorian Cage fights are cool, but, I feel the bonuses are a bit too much. Though you can risk your entire character you get in return two feats and a piece of gear that cannot be ignored in its mechanical benefit - along with access to an NPC who will buff you with level 30 spells.

The fight itself is limited to melee oriented builds (and a few very difficult MEME things certain casters can do).

Completing every fight nets you around 400k or so gold.

You get Luck of Heroes for free if you didn't have it. (+1 UNI)

You get Epic Reputation for free if you didn't have it. (+4 to bluff, intimidate, persuade, and taunt)

The Champion Belt is a +3 STR +5 DISC and +5 Intimidate.

+access to an NPC which, as long as you're on C&P provides big buffs.

Is kind of insane.

I realize this has all existed for a long time but as people have both discovered how to successfully do the arena and as metas and balances shift about its probably a good idea to tweak this up. I don't hate the Andunor arena, but, that belt combined with the free feats is just too much to ignore and gives a sizeable advantage to very particular kinds of characters mechanically and morally.

It has become something people build around entirely. This shouldn't be the case. It should be a small accolade and not this giant mechanical advantage or necessary piece for people to exist.


I propose:

You still get the money.

All current belts to be nerfed either into a comparable, maybe design-able piece of gear that everyone would already have anyway (like 1 stat / 1 stat SAVE skill skill skill) - or just removed all-together. Any belts currently out there should also be updated or voided of their stats upon login. The belt is too much +3 STR and +5 DISC are too attractive. Also with the current changes to Knock Down every single item that has discipline on the server just makes that feat less attractive. The strength makes gear capping for the +12 stat WAAAY too easy.

The feats should be removed from characters who have them, if possible. You should no longer get them.

The buffing NPC should be removed or reduced in what he provides.

As an alternative to the feats given and the buffing NPC - replace it all with a temporary boon like those that already exist on the server. Have it give something appropriate to a warrior who has endured that - reflecting reputation.

You could- with a removal of the incredibly unnecessary belt and to maintain its MORAL QUANDARY by having the boon when it is active read the current Belt Description thing, and make it so you cannot disguise while it is active (but have some way to cancel the boon, unlike other boons).

Have it so your Andunorian Chain lengths glow with power signifying what you have done and where you've gotten it. Or even just have anywho has has completed the Andunorian arena be marked by their chain belt.

(and a way to get rid of it, that, if you get rid of it you lose the option of getting the boon, BUT, you keep the money.)

Server has definitely changed since this was introduced.

Approved (for this to broadly be revisited to tone down the power of the belt/NPC and/or make the fights more challenging)
