I seem to recall it being said that the Dev team was still looking for a suitable bonus for ESF Enchantment. What if it granted the ability to remove an item property via the basin? Often I find items in the loot matrix which area really close to what I need, but maybe have one too many properties to be runed, or because of existing properties push an additional enchantment into 5% territory. An epic enchanter being uniquely able to strip a property wouldn't make other dweomer crafters less powerful but would give enchanters a niche in the market for creating truly interesting items.
I'm imagining it being done for a suitable but gp cost and % chance at failure as per normal, but less of course than adding a new property. Also not applying to certain properties, like racial requirements.

This would really mess up some of the weapon balance. Many of the items you refer to here have been carefully designed precisely to prevent further additions.
