Gem Mining Hammer Bug: Crinti Ruins, Manor

Description of Bug Experienced:

A Mineral Deposit (Fire Opal) did not respond properly with increased mining efficiency when using a Gem Mining Hammer.

Steps to reproduce the Bug:
Entering the zone Underdark (Middle), Ruins (Manor) - the Crinti Ruins of Underdark

Equip a Gem Mining Hammer, whack away at Mineral Deposit (Fire Opal) found in the chamber.

Expected Result:
Get a status message of "This tool will enable you to harvest resources faster" and mine the gem vein effectively.

Actual Result:
Message of bonus damage did not appear, dialogue of not being able to damage target with current equipped weapon, and spend a small forever smacking the vein yet receiving not a single gem.

Additional Information/Notes
Test character used: Human (Bard/Knight Valiant), whacking away with 4 APR.

Gem Mining Hammer typically works with no issue.

Fixed since last reset, oddly enough. Mined normally and as intended.

Tried to mine Alexanderiate at Crows nest with Gem hammer - got this. Will try again next reset and see if it's a temp bug or not.

I've tried to use this several times in many places and almost never got a gem or did damage or anything. I don't think it works at all.
