It was the response I got at the time when my shop suddenly changed hands after a few days of not logging in. Eitherway best of luck to you man, try to make the best of it.

Hmmm...that's wierd. A DM said that? I don't think it's true. When I read your post I went back to my logs and found the 7 day notice.

Even now, there are a couple of shops where the owner has been MIA for days. I don't know, maybe they just log in for a few minutes to refresh it, but I never see them IG.

This actually sucks. I remember 6 months ago or so when I started playing this game, my first char was a Skal guy and Victor was there then, running his shop. I bought a few things there for my monk.
