Bug: When Cities and Planes is up for long periods of time, the southmost vendor on the left side of the hub (a drow whose name I cannot remember off the top of my head) will occasionally cause the server to lag while selling items to her.
How to reproduce: Sell vast quantities of items to her, usually reproduces when three or more of her tabs have 8+ pages
Expected result : No lag, items sold
Actual result: Server may take several seconds to respond when attempting to sell the item
If possible, it may be a good idea to force her inventory to reset RL-hourly, regardless if the Hub reloads itself or not. I know that the Hub often goes for extremely long periods of time without the area resetting; this can lead to her inventory, specifically, becoming bloated with semi-worthless rings, potions, scrolls, and other nick-knacks and causes, in my experience, a great deal of intermittent server lag.
Alternatively, adding another 'universal' shopkeeper in the hub may be a good idea, allowing people to sell to two vendors and (possibly) keeping the overall inventory bloat to a minimal level.

Re: Junk Drow in UD causes server to lag hard when selling
I hope there is a different solution. Both of my characters rely on that merchant for purchases of items players sell to her that aren't available anywhere else, and at affordable prices - for instance high level spell scrolls, and some gems. 'go buy from players' would be a bit of a hassle for items I use or search for daily. Players are often unavailable or don't have those things.AskRyze wrote: Fri Nov 29, 2019 1:18 am

I'm reasonably sure this is not the cause for the lag, and it is more on the 'long uptime for the cities and planes server' that is the culprit. The merchants do actually reset what they have in their inventories periodically but it does require no characters be in the area for an amount of time. I would be surprised if this was the true cause of server lag.
