On (accepted) barkskin suggestion and stone bones

I found that viewtopic.php?f=51&t=25898&p=210218 it was finally decided that Barkskin must be "skin". This is good news as tree-people are indeed annoying, and I cannot tell that the visual effect conveys much information anyway (would you dispel for barkskin, really?).

There is another spell, called "Stone Bones", that gives +3 natural AC, just like barkskin pots. Perhaps it would be possible to make it also apply to living creatures now? It would give no visual effect and finally be a useful equivalent. What do you think?

Stone Bones is an AOE around you hitting all undead. An AOE barkskin that targets all your allies would be an extremely powerful group spell.

Should have checked. Indeed, what a shame.

Although one could add to it a functionality that its target is either the caster or AOE undead. But maybe that is hard to implement.

Related: I have spoken with Symphony on discord, and to quote, "As far as barkskin only applying to skin colors, that’s largely impossible and would require an extreme amount of changes in both custom content work and changes to the base game."

If this is true, perhaps the effect of bark should be removed altogether?

I was working on a alternative VFX for Barkskin; had some leaves surrounding the target like a shield. But wasn't too satisfied with it. We can indeed remove Barkskin VFX as it is today and I would personally be fine with this.

Oh please please please please! A single solid coloured circle around the character base to indicate barkskin would be a huge improvement over ugly tree people.
