Equipment save and swap

Post by CNS »

Wanted to get some thoughts on this idea and guage it's popularity. My feeling is it's super highly wanted but I don't recall seeing it requested formally but I'd like to test that.

A script or command that can switch gear automatically.

As a step by step.
1) You put on a set of gear. Save it. The script checks each slot and remember the item.
2) You go on with your characters life and swap some items.
3) You can later trigger the script again and it will check each equipment slot, if the item isn't the same in each one it will put it in your inventory, search your inventory for what was there previously and put that in the slot if it finds it.

Is something like this high on your wishlist? Am I missing something that makes it a crushingly bad idea?

Possibly exploitable in a PvP scenario, But other than that seems like a neat idea.

When it comes to PvP, it could be a problem if it doesn't carry with it some sort of flag to prevent it being used in combat. It could work similarly to the current -LoadOutfit/-SaveOutfit but also include a delay like -disguise has?

It's cool though, would be nice for those of us who swap gear for +search/lore

Realistically it does take time for a person to switch a set of rings, amulet, accessories, etc. It's too good of a QoL. It would be as overpowered as a script that auto-buffs all your wards like NPC casters in dungeons. It would need to be limited to out of combat and to put you disabled for a round or two, but then I wouldnt use it at all because it would toss my current gear back into the inventory at random order and I'd rather put my current gear manually all cramped together in the last inventory page or something. That's my take on this.

Are outfit dialogues available in combat? If not, should be no problem
