I had actually intended to report this one a few days ago when I noticed it but another post just reminded me.

The darkness cast by driders will cause my undead to stop attacking, until I run into it .. spot the enemy and playertool1 my undead to attack it. Then the enemy is protected by 50% concealment. All of this exactly the same as before the update.
Essentially what this means is that regardless of the Detections Skills or Wards that a summon has, as long as the Caster has True Sight they can force their targets to attack Invisible and Hidden Creatures and even attack whilst blinded.
This could also be used in PvP and as NPCs and Summons chase relentlessly, even when the effects of True Sight wear off from the Caster, the summons will continue to chase and attack hidden creatures or invisible.

For me, as I was the one quoted, it only works when I can see the enemy, and my summons can see/hear the enemy. This means I need to move my summon to be standing next to the enemy so they can "hear" them, and then playertool1 will let me make them attack. Don't think it's a bug as this is also how it works for players when in darkness/blinded. You can attack things you can't see, while blinded/in darkness or if they are invisible. Things you hear but can't see will show up as translucent, I think?
But that's just me and that one scenario. I have no idea if there are other situations where it can actually be used how you described.

My current toon has high detection skills, I can Playertool my summons to attack what my Character detects, regardless of whether or not they have detection skills.

Summons will certainly not attacks mobs when they are blinded, or immersed in darkness unable to see the mob. The only outlier is with invisibility and stealth, where if the summoner can see them, they can tell the summon to strike.
That seems reasonable, IC? If the summon can't see, you can't tell it where to swing... but if you can just point at a space, and say "swing your claws right there," no reason they shouldn't be able to.
