Invisible Hostile NPCs
So within the past two days I've been regularly encountering this bug where NPCs, and on one occasion a PC, are invisible and hostile. By "invisble" I mean that I can't see them or select them at all, but if I hit the tooltip button the name window will pop up like normal. The weird thing is, they are shown as being hostile by the tooltip. Fully exiting and starting NWN back up again seems to resolve this issue, but this happens so frequently that it's just a massive pain. Last night I had to restart NWN several times in the span of one hour because this kept happening. This has happened in Burrowhome, at the adventuring agent in the Hawk's Rest Inn, and a few times in the middle of Cordor near the message board. Never had this problem before, curious to see if other people have noticed it recently or perhaps in the past. For me at least, this is totally new and I haven't seen mention of it anywhere else myself.

Edit: Changed the topic name because "invisible hostile enemies" might be a bit misleading, because this is not the usual bug that has always existed with enemy mobs randomly disappearing but still being there. Though it is strangely similar.

Re: Invisible Hostile NPCs
It is a halfling bug.
The only way to fix is to fully restart the game.

Another forum ban, here we go again.

Huh. Makes sense. Iirc the PC that disappeared on me in Cordor was a halfling. Is this something new? Or is it old and I've only just experienced it now?

Swap to .10. See if there is any issues with it.

Can't see your vault? Have you migrated your accounts? If you have tried, and still can't see them, message me.

Rolling back to .10 has not made any difference. Happening at about the same frequency.

.1 or .10? They're different.

Re: Invisible Hostile NPCs
For PC, i've not encountered them before.
But for NPC, it sort of happens every now and then.
Usually for PVE- Hostile NPC that is "invisible", i will usually lure the "Invisible" target to a normal hostile NPC and killed it. You will auto-switch to hit the "Invisible" target and it can also still be killed.
One of the monster that I usually encountered which went "invisible" is the Frost Ogre Elder in Skaljard's cave. Although rare, but this is usually how i do it, rather than restarting NWN, especially when you've summons on.

I am fairly sure we have located the reason for this. At least in the case of halflings being invisible. I'm working on the fix now.
