Relevel after Monk Changes

Description of Bug Experienced:
(please include information of what you did, that lead up to the bug, what you expected to happen there, and what actually happened, then move on to describe below:)

After release of the new monk update, and the providing of -relevel to monk class level chracters, a friend of mine went ahead and tried to do it to recover from some bad skill investments, etc. After dip into fighter from wizard (spellsword) as base (9/4) and about to take a level into wizard again, it sends him in an endless loop of him trying to level up but just 'resets' back to 9/4 after confirming.

I reproduced this on PGCC as well, on an existing character I had there, prior to the update.

Steps to reproduce the Bug:

1. Have character of Wiz/Fr/Monk pre-patch.
2. Hit -relevel
3. Do levelling up to 9 wiz, do 4 levels into fighter. (Total level: 13)
4. On 14th total level-up, pick 10th level of Wizard (Cycling back from Ftr -> Wiz)
5. Confirm, after investing skills and pick Maximize feat.


Expected Result:

Level up, as per normal routine. No mechanically illegal action was made.

Actual Result:

Reset to level 13, with enough experience with level-up.

Please see the message in your combat log:

[Server] Character has gained too many hitpoints.

This isn't a bug with the relevel aside from the fact that your bic file was corrupted and needs manual editing. Since this is a PGCC character, there is no point in me fixing it as you can just make a new one. But, this often happens with classes that have modified base hitpoints from their original class and wearing CON gear when you relevel. The game screws up the HP calculation and assigns some values as 0.

Hey Spyre,

Didn't notice given I recalled the hit point message being yellow when it first occurred a while back.

The report was made due to the friend's character on the main server (Dameon Wade) being listed in the report, having this issue.
