So yeah, character fresh off the boat. No enchanted weapon. Very first quest.
Aaaaaaand you're dead (werecat down the ladder).
The very first quest of the game shouldn't be able to put a game-over "flee or die" monster, it's just a turn off with no counterplay for new players. New players won't have the reflex to leave or will just panic (which is what happened to my companion).
Note that "Skal not being for new player" doesn't change the fact that putting a monster with massive +1 DR is unbalanced for a level 3 quest.
