The fog/draw distance could stand to be made heaps longer range, it's hard to see into the arena a lot of the time!

EDIT: Maybe also remove the four big pillars in there too? They block audience LoS to the extent it's not particularly enjoyable.

We need the columns to break line of sight for corner sneaks in there.

surely there's fixtures that aren't so colossal that could do similar

Please remove the pillars. In other arenas, on the surface, spectators can actually see all the action no matter where they are. Perhaps there is something smaller that can be used to give the fighters what they want without taking all the fun away from the audience.

In terms of a colosseum for observing bloodsports, it's not particularly great, though - the old Cordor arena or the Sibayad arena are perfect examples, imo
