Craft Mastery

Post by Might-N-Magic »

Currently, Craft Mastery raises the ceiling of your craft points at a one per one rate. This is nice, but once spent, really doesn't help you much while you're online. It would be more helpful to everyone if Craft Mastery also added to the rate at which you gain craft points per tick. Adding +2 points a tick per 10 ranks invested would be most useful.

Unless it's been set up differently from the crafting gift, it should, in a way, increase your crafting point recovery rate.

You recover your full crafting points over the span of one IG day, meaning that if you have more than usual, you should also be recovering extra CP on some ticks.

Can confirm, my L30 Commoner w/33 Craft Mastery + Skill Focus/Epic Skill Focus gets back 6 CP per tick, compared to the like 2-4 I get on my other characters.

I just wish that Craft Mastery skill focuses gave you a few tradeskill ranks to distribute - because they're largely superfluous, and you're just burning 1 normal feat and 1 epic feat to net yourself +13 Max CP (especially since you can hit Tier 3 Dweomercrafting very easily without using feats for it.)
what would fred rogers do?

It’d be nice if the craft mastery skill focus feats can be combined with improved dweomercrafting feat to reduce redundancy.

As it currently stands, the Skill Focus: Craft Mastery only provides 3 cp, the Epic Skill Focus: Craft Mastery provides 10 cp.

If they can provide further more as listed, it’ll be a boon to crafting-oriented characters:
Skill Focus: 3 cp & 2 Trade Skill Points
Epic Skill Focus: 10 cp & 5 Trade Skill Points
Craft Mastery Base Ranks: 1 Trade Skill points every 10 ranks

When fully invested into Craft Mastery, not only will the character become Mundane T3 dweomercrafter, they will also gain up to 10 points of trade skill for distribution.

For you, the day Kenji overhauled your class was the most important day of your life.
But for me, it was Tuesday. :face_with_monocle: To-do list

Good suggestion, I'd like that.

In general, I don't like that magic users have so many crafting options while mundanes to do not (wands, scrolls and potions). Mundane crafters are not even allowed to pick Brew Potion to be good herbalists. The above in combination with opening Brew Potion would be a good start for making it more even.

The Brew Potion feat allows you to make potions from Spell Circles 1-4. How would the Brew Potion feat benefit mundane crafters if they don't have the spells to cast?

It also increases the number of potions created by crafting through herbalism.

honestly... 1 feat of craft mastery should unlock Brew potions for mundane characters and brew potions should count as mundane tier too. For commoners and pretty much all mundane herbalists.

I would enjoy if crafting mastery +20 DC for double progress can be used for repair work. Currently its still a 1 for 1 CP to repair ratio
