Another Radiant Heart bug - the ring not levelling up

Description:

Rank updating but not ring. Still at Squire level (+4 disc) instead of actual rank (Knight)

Steps to reproduce: Hand in quest

Expected Result: Rank and Ring upgrade

Actual Result: Rank update, no Ring upgrade.

DM Wake tried to level the ring up manually, no luck.

Have you spoken with the smith in the room to the left of the lady who gives the quests? He is the one you upgrade the ring with, through a conversation.
