Re: Graphics!
Unless its a really smart update, something tells me that a lot of clothing options won't port over. So the options will either be to get rid of all the new clothes that don't come default with the game, allow for a mix-mash of good and bad graphics, or keep what we have until all the new cloths are remodeled. Something tells me we'll be sticking with the third option for a while.
Don't get me wrong, this sounds awesome. But it wouldn't be nwn if I couldn't count the polygons on my gnoll's character model

Re: Graphics!
I could be wrong but I don't think anything will be broken with this update. In the screenshots that show the preview, I believe the textures are the same it's just the way the lighting is done changes the way the metals and other materials work.

Re: Graphics!
The update does, unfortunately, break Symphony's HDR shader at the time of writing. So, just be advised if you load up and have a sea of green / black for your screen, that's the cause.
Edit: It works now. See post below.

Wow. Symphony's work ethic terrifies me. That's awesome stuff, thanks for the heads-up!Maladus wrote: Tue Aug 11, 2020 4:18 am He updated the shader on the Workshop and posted a link to download it on the Discord.

Re: Graphics!
so is this built in to base EE now? or a workshop link somewhere or something? I am trying to figure out how to turn this on.

Re: Graphics!
It's not live yet, just in the Development Build. So it's coming... eventually.malcolm_mountainslayer wrote: Thu Aug 13, 2020 1:02 am so is this built in to base EE now? or a workshop link somewhere or something? I am trying to figure out how to turn this on.

You can already manually subscribe to and try out 8193.14. It's technically compatible with the current live version. However modules aren't adjusted to it yet. Quoting myself from a different thread.
Edit: Contributor response.Surrender The Throne wrote: Tue Aug 11, 2020 1:43 pm In theory, the client-side beta patch should already be functional. I've read that some people have already tried it out on Arelith. When I try it, all areas and sprites turn up black. Do others experience the same?
The water looks really nice, though.
In Sorrow We Trust wrote: Thu Aug 13, 2020 1:44 pm Sure it's functional, but there is no guarantee it will work on Arelith nor do we recommend trying. Kind of a use at your own risk thing.

Re: Graphics!
I'm not sure what's making other people get the weird graphical glitch, but I got mine working fine.
It looks good! With the caveats that it mostly deals with lighting (lighting is a Lot more important, areas without light sources are noticeably dimmer, but lights themselves are more effective etc) and the biggest effect you'll see is on metal, stone, etc.
Granted I'm guessing this is because it's just the client side half right now.
But don't do it.

Re: Graphics!
Bearing in mind the caveats from everyone else about the fact that this isn't officially supported by Arelith right now (or even NWN:EE since it's currently not a full release version), to download it and try it out you just right-click on NWN:EE in your Library, go to Properties, the Betas tab, select to opt-in to build 8193.14, and let it download. Once you do that you should be good to go.malcolm_mountainslayer wrote: Thu Aug 13, 2020 1:02 am so is this built in to base EE now? or a workshop link somewhere or something?
