Smugglers on Sencliff, always gone when you need them.
I had a feeling that this was perhaps an intended mechanic, so I posted here in feedback instead of in the bug forum. At times I can't pinpoint, both smugglers on Sencliff vanish. Logging out for six minutes when no one seems to be around doesn't bring them back. So, I basically had to decide to logoff and not play on this server because I can't just throw around portal lense money willy nilly. If this is intended, I highly recommend a complete removal of this mechanic, or at least a third smuggler who I guess can take you somewhere more inconvenient. Either way-this is like, not really cool or fun for anyone and I'm not playing again because of it.

I have noticed the same. This has happened at least twice now in very short time, and each time I had to burn a lens to be able to leave the isle (without taking the ship and ditching it to some port). It works other way around as well. Smugglers vanish, at least the one at drydocks. At the time I did not check other places but just opted for a portal -- just to get stranded in Sencliff instead.

I've ran into a no-smuggler-burn-lens situation too, twice in about a week now. Maybe this should belong in the bug forum?

I made it very clear I'm posting here instead of the bug forum in-case this is an intended mechanic.AstralUniverse wrote: Fri Sep 04, 2020 7:23 pm I've ran into a no-smuggler-burn-lens situation too, twice in about a week now. Maybe this should belong in the bug forum?

One of my characters goes to Sencliff very sporadically and I've encountered this multiple times.

I think people kill the smugglers in order to trap others on Sencliff.
Probably should be reported, though I guess it's hard to see when the killing happened.

So, I'm seeing that smuggler routes do go away due to smugglers being killed by players. But I'm curious if we're just allowing players to kill the smugglers who are literally surrounded by armed NPCs? It seems odd to have reinforcement consequences for something clearly against the rules.

Report it. DMs don't know if people don't report it. It sounds like a lot of players don't even know this is going on.

Someone is killimg them. IMO the exit portal for Sencliff should be moved from the estate too the locker room as people play different timezones and not everyome rp wise will always be able to snuggle up to the estate owner.Absolute Territory wrote: Fri Sep 04, 2020 5:55 am I had a feeling that this was perhaps an intended mechanic, so I posted here in feedback instead of in the bug forum. I think some npc on one of the beaches might take you directly to the crow's nest. Ship rentals are also backup option.

I'm really not fond of repeating myself. You quoted me without even reading properly.
Ive been hitting the good ol /dm command for a bit now to no avail, long before I posted this.

Send a PM to active DM's if you don't get an answer in /dm, if you don't get an answer there it could be that no one was online to notice your report so it got lost among the dozen or hundreds of other reports that ping the DM channel.

Please report it, killing (or dominating) none hostile npcs is considered a breach of the rules.
This too shall pass.
(I now have a DM Discord (I hope) It's DM GrumpyCat#7185 but please keep in mind I'm very busy IRL so I can't promise how quick I'll get back to you.)

if someone killed him, isnt this NPC supposed to leave a Smugger (dead) in blue text as a corpse you can raise?

Yeah, I'd imagine so! I mean I've not tested, but all the other npcs work like that.
Maybe someone is using Dominate on them and killing them elsewhere? That's the other option perhaps?

Something tells me it's not what's been happening but... maybe. The GrumpyCat wrote: Tue Sep 08, 2020 11:10 pm Yeah, I'd imagine so! I mean I've not tested, but all the other npcs work like that.

Re: Smugglers on Sencliff, always gone when you need them.
I mean a while ago Tinkers were going missing - but I think that's stopped now? I'm not sure what bug could be causing Smugglers to vanish tbh. Tinkers made more sense - they move around and stuff so I can see them randomly bugging out. But Smugglers are, to my knowledge, pretty static. It's very odd.
This too shall pass.

Re: Smugglers on Sencliff, always gone when you need them.
How much HP do they have? A while ago lightning from weather was destroying fixtures in Cordor.
Re: Smugglers on Sencliff, always gone when you need them.
Isn't it the same bug the tinkers had? Because they all have the same name when one is killed, all are gone. And because some are in hostile area, it's pretty common for monsters to kill them (in the smugglers case in the sibayas coast area and Minmir undead area mostly)

This has been an ongoing issue. I've spoken with our developers and we will be working to get this fixed. I don't anticipate it to be completed overnight but we'll make progress to correct this and ensure the NPCs are available always.
