More carrot and less stick based. We have the RPR recommendation system. Imagine if we offered very subtle scaling benefits as rewards, and slight debuffs as penalties due to alignment score. It would actually make it mean something. One could argue this would require DM time, but it would be less imperative than a "report" of misconduct or rulebreak. More a rp recommendation. It would help the community a lot I think.
This would basically be a player making an evil, lawful, good, chaotic recommendation that says hey this is roleplayed very well, or that was questionable. The team can thus reward and reinforce good alignment based rp as they are able to. With a small mechanical benefit, even if it doesn't happen allllll the time people will be rping way more carefully with their alignments to try to earn cookies or avoid that stick.
A few examples:
-Smite good/evil starts at 75% total damage and scales to 100% of ability original dmg with alignment score.
-Bonus HP, 1AC, 1 AB or something minor to gate/summons of your alignment with alignment score reaching a threshold.
-x% (5%?) spell failure if fall below a given alignment score due to repeated, egregious alignment violations, especially if divine caster.
-Lose detect evil/good at certain alignment score.
-Add small temp hp to a given max every IC day (say 10-20 temp hp) based on alignment affinity with diety.
There are tons of tiny little cookies and small mechanical things, even many options are more rp centric, that would be very enticing to work for as a rper. I think there is a minor problem with rping true to alignment and it's very hard for the DM team to proactively enforce or police. This would be a fairly low stakes way to crowd source this info and reward people that do it well, while checking egregious violations of alignment RP (in a very minor way) without bans/warnings through reports.

Re: Alignment Recommendation System
I discussed this with the team and we decided it really isn't going to work. it's too much for us to keep track of, and alignment is a tricky thing to start with. We like to keep a pretty soft touch with it. So moving to rejected.
This too shall pass.
