New travellers rations
Okay, this is a small thing, but with the new icons the new travellers rations have been changed.
Before: they occupied four slots and weighed 0.5 pound each.
Now: they occupy two slots and weigh 1 pound each.
Where is the problem then?
Well, normal food rations occupy one slot and weigh only 0.1 pound.
The logical conclusion is that it is currently pointless to use travellers rations, so travellers rations have no sense to be used by player characters (they may have sense for settlement resources and the rest but that is not the focus of this feedback).
IMHO the new travellers rations should at least weigh as the old ones, and as many two-slots items, to have any convenience in being used. As things stand it's just too advantageous to just use regular food ratios, even just for the inventory slots. Due to the way multi-charge stacking items work, you need to split the item you use from its stack, lest the charges of all the stack get used. And regular food rations do not have that issue.
The only benefit that I can think of for the new rations is that they spare people some clicks when they are bought. But that's hardly so pressing.

Re: New travellers rations
I think a lot of the new *Misc items don't follow the previous Misc items old reduced base weight. Or at least I've noticed it with *Misc thin. The bar drinks and the bardic mandolin are other such examples.

Re: New travellers rations
Not all items of the same size have the same weight. Some items just weren't changed yet and still use the vanilla Miscellaneous Thin! From the original announcement post for reference:
Travel provisions use the Misc thin - Container baseitem type. The issue of weight/size versus of food rations is an excellent one to raise. Quite frankly, this update may well just be the one that makes them obsolete! But we'll see what the best option might be to restore them their use case.
Code: Select all

Re: New travellers rations
Until there's a day when items like rations, or lifesaver salves, or anything that can stack but uses all of the charges across the entire stack instead of additively increasing the number of charges - things like the 1x1 food rations will never not be superior in every way.
There's just too much micromanagement (along with considerable inventory space needed) to split all these things up otherwise. For example you can stack 20 food rations on a 1x1 and just use them whenever, but for the same effect you need two 2x1 traveller rations, and then need to split them to a total of 2x2 in order to have the same 20 charges.
They look cool though - so that's a big plus.

So we're very much on track.

Re: New travellers rations
It's crazy to believe it would be more fitting to change the travelling rations, instead of an item with 10 charges, into a container where you can put all your food and drinks inside?

Re: New travellers rations
Just increase the number of charges to 25 and prevent stacking. Problem (technically) solved :D
