Starting gear & coin

We will file suggestions here that did not make the cut. Don't expect detailed responses, but the most common reasons are:

  • implementing the suggestion is impractical, or too much work for the gain
  • the suggestion is thematically against our design philosophy
  • the suggestion is too detailed/low-level
Keep your suggestions broad and focused on RP benefits, please, not detailed suggestions of how to fix everything.

Starting gear & coin

Post by Reallylongunneededplayername »

Okay, I noticed starting gear has somewhat changed, Often I find myself with 2 outfits, Some armor and a weapon now.

Pretty okay I guess, But..What if.

1. We placed a trash barrel. Mostly because of the books. I think it's neat for first time Arelith players,
But now that I have been here.. a while. I don't really use them anymore. Even the deity I go by R-menu. or add the books to '2'

2. A very basic shop with some unique items your character could have brought from 'home'. *Price unique items nearly equal to '3'

3. A starting "capital" 1000 gp (Average the items you get at creation are worth between 500 to 10 000ish/raisescroll so I don't find it to
much) For nobles an increase to 5000.

4. Optimal. Teachers. NPC's that tell you the basics, Like the R-menu, Deities (could even have this one set up your deity for lazy
reasons). History teacher for flavor. go wild.
(>^.^)>) * * * *<(^.^<) <-Magic missles and shield spell.

1) Rejected. There are easily accessibly trash barrels once you enter the world at any of the starting locations, and can dump them there.

2) There are peddlers at most settlements now, I would advise using what gold you have accumulated to buy and enchant those then. As an aside, in the entry, you will not start with gold.

3) Everyone starts with a 1000 gold loan that they can take out. I am not seeing much need for adjusting this - you can gain the gold as required through writs soon after entering the settlement.

4) NPCs in the entry do go over server rules, if they do not go over the systems, its because a wall of a text may not be the best way to learn. If anything, we should work on redirecting to the wiki or provide a sample in game.
