Devil's Table Playhouse
The use of Darkness and it's dispelling is used to represent the changing of scenes in plays in the Devil's Table playhouse quite often, if possible having a lever that creates a pool of darkness and dispels it would streamline that process and allow for transitions of scenes without needing a caster or Drow on hand.
Gods can we just remove magic already?

I think this is pretty cool, and I'm fairly certain it's possible.
