Too easy to accidentally "Take Object"?
One of the banes of my Arelith existence is when I accidentally "take object" on a fixture when trying to "use object." Happens mostly during laggy times and always involves ten minutes of having to reposition the thing I took juuust right again.
What if there was a y/n confirmation after hitting "take object" to make it more difficult to choose it by accident?

Yes!!! I just said this yesterday on the discord. It is an accident and I feel terrible every time because I know someone invested so much the in placing it. And I see so many fixtures others have accidentally picked up that I then painstakingly move back. Either make it not option 1 or give a confirm dialogue please!

It would be fantastic if it required you to actually type something out similar to when you -delete_character.
1. Click it the usual way.
2. "Do you want to pick up this fixture? If so, type Yes in the chat then click confirm."
3. Fixture gets picked up.
Tedious for the few who like to redecorate often, but the pros far outweighs that con.

Or disable the menu item entirely. We have -pickup as a command already.
Re: Too easy to accidentally "Take Object"?
Pickup for fixtures that are very close to each other is not as handy.
A confirmation prompt is probably the best solution imho.

Re: Too easy to accidentally "Take Object"?
What if -pickup was slightly modified so that it only works on an object you are interacting with? Or perhaps it affects the next thing you click? Seems the groundwork for a work around to the dialogue option is already there. Heck, the dialogue option could remain, and just set a flag on the fixture so that the next use of "-pickup" targets it, and have the flag reset on tick or something.Itikar wrote: Mon Dec 07, 2020 4:44 pm Pickup for fixtures that are very close to each other is not as handy.

Re: Too easy to accidentally "Take Object"?
The -pickup command is most useful for gathering things you can't reach to interact with, such as if you accidentally place a painting inside a wall, or something similar. That'd be a drawback of that suggestion.

That's actually a nice idea.KeldonDonovans wrote: Tue Dec 08, 2020 12:41 am What if -pickup was slightly modified so that it only works on an object you are interacting with? Did you lot of devs just sneakily switch "Use object" and "Take object" on the menu or have I gone mad?
