Extending Changes for -investigate?

Post by Bunnysmack »

A little while back, a change was instituted for the following:
NPCs can no longer immediately identify Deep Imaskari, Rakshasa, Vampires, etc. when questioned using the -investigate command (they will report whatever parent or apparent race is appropriate at the time the PC was detected).
A similar change was also instituted to make it so these PCs didn't leave corpses for their real race if they died in their disguise subrace's form.

I was wondering what people's thoughts might be about instituting similar change for -investigate in other forms. Personally, I like the idea of the real race being revealed if it is part of a blood stain left from a PC that died or was subdueled, as it stands to reason that, especially with high lore and potentially divination, the blood on the ground could be recognized as coming from one of these unique races, but it seems less reasonable that someone examining a bashed fixture or the bloodstain of someone shot by a vampire-casted-spell would immediately reveal that the attacker was of a special race type.

On the other hand, it is nice to have some sort of method for investigating these differences, so I can definitely see an argument for not extending the restriction to blood stains and bashed fixtures, from a perspective of keeping in certain methods of player agency and curiosity.

Thoughts?
"You're insufferable..."
"That's not true! I can totally be suffered!"
