Andunor Hub Spawn Point
Hello,
It seems that if you log off in the hub then log back in it spawns you ontop of the portal. I was wondering if there was a way it could be moved? It seems like for me, and apparently others, sometimes you log in but run to like grab laundry or something then you're blocking the portal for the entire hub.

It means that it was the last place you transitioned in from somewhere; it's not a spawn point.
This is a really odd request. Maybe don't log in if you have chores to do. It takes like 10 seconds from starting the game to in the game.

There are a lot of people who just stand in the portal in the hub for a while. Sometimes they crashed, sometimes they have real life things to care care of. If it is something simple to do, just to move the spawning point slightly to the side, it could help with these awkward situations.

If you -save before logging out it spawns you where you saved at, even after resets.

I'm not sure what is odd about the request. I thought it was a 'spawn' point or whatever that just places you there. Now that you've made that clarification it makes more sense. My point was that it's annoying to sit on the portal and I thought that was occurring more frequently because it was a spawn point. There was a server reset, I re-logged, before I loaded all the way my alarm went off so I ran to grab laundry not expecting to be on top of the portal. I expected to be where I was standing last when the reset happened. So it's not always as simple as 'not logging in'.Xerah wrote: Thu Dec 17, 2020 12:55 am It means that it was the last place you transitioned in from somewhere; it's not a spawn point.

I feel a bit silly having to explain all that lol. But it seems like the feedback was dismissed as being stupid. Oh well.

It's not a spawn point.
In the event of a crash or reset where you didn't do a -save or /save within the same area of the module to preserve your coordinates, the game brings you back to where you entered the transition.
So, if you crashed, the server crashed, or the game reset where you hadn't done a -save or /save within that same area it makes sense that the system would return you to the portal if that's how you entered the area. This can happen with normal doorways and walkway transitions also.
Transitions that don't move onto another map within the module don't count as transitions that will save. (Since it's still the same area.)

Re: Andunor Hub Spawn Point
I know I hard crash like one in maybe twenty times when portaling between servers and my character is then stuck where they landed and I can't do anything about it for five minutes until the "your CD key is in use" clears. Once or twice that's happened at the Hub, I'm sure annoying everyone.Diegovog wrote: Thu Dec 17, 2020 1:28 am There are a lot of people who just stand in the portal in the hub for a while. Making the Hub landing point right outside the building and the Hub portal outgoing only might actually be a nice thing. It would also mitigate the constant stream of folks returning from writs or hunting fully warded and with 3 mummies in tow in the middle of a social gathering area.
