EDK Size

Post by Bunnysmack »

I think Arelith might want to consider reducing the size of epic dragon knights, or at least, a few more models of their various streams moved to a substantially smaller size.

At the moment, they are SO huge that they can't effectively be used in any pathway that is even slightly narrow. One of the EDK streams that is partially FOIG-couched is of a reasonable and adaptive size, but it's also tied to a particular spectrum of alignment and anyone that ISN'T near that alignment has to instead deal with a dragon that can't move over a bridge, or around a cave corner, and most problematic of all: If there are any obstructing objects in the area, the enormous model size causes their rather dumb minion AI to just give up on moving at all, and sit there...inert...Because a small sign is in the way of their pathing.

Honestly, despite the nerfs to EDK, I still love the epic spell when the area is large enough to accommodate them, but the fact that most of them are too big to function is a consistently debilitating issue. The bipedal gate/warlock/BG summons do not have this issue most of the time, undead never have this issue (except Dracolich EDK), and neither do any form of elemental summon, including the huge Monolithic Elementals that wild mages can call up.

Haven't they reduced a bit already?

And the size can be used for your advantage in pvp.

That's very true and often forgotten or underrated around here.

I've always thought that a humanoid winged knight model would be much more useful and thematically appropriate.

Please don't. The scale of EDK is also useful tactically for body blocking and providing a way to stall melee rushes or corner fragile builds.
