New Myon quarter fixture limit

Post by Party in the forest at midnight »

The new quarters are nice, but they're all in the same area, along with the central hub. With only 210 fixture slots for the whole area, this comes out to be about 40 fixtures per segment of the area, or 50 if nobody put anything in the hub.

With the size of the new quarters, that's going to be absolutely jam packed very quickly. There's a huge amount of space to decorate. These quarters are easily larger than the Sibayad guildhouse, which had its fixture limit boosted recently.

One thing I really like about Myon is the amount of art in the city. I feel like that is going to be hurt by the shared space and people vying for extra fixture slots. There won't be room to put anything down outside of the quarters. And things are probably going to fill up fairly quickly as people want to fill in the empty spaces of their house.

I've not used the toolset a whole lot, especially not the EE toolset; I don't think it's possible to copy/paste content from an area into a new zone, so I don't think it's reasonably possible to move housing to their own areas. But it might be good to give the fixture limit a much bigger boost, so people can utilize the space in these areas.

Another thing that would help would be to add chairs to the dining room tables. I've been in 2 of these estates and both seem similar, so I'm assuming all 4 of them have this feature.
In this screenshot, I placed the 6 chairs around the table. You can see there's easily room for 8 on each side, plus 2 on the end. That's 18 fixtures already, if all 4 estates load up that's 72 fixtures just in chairs.

With that said, something I really like about the estates is the really nice social area right at the entry, complete with 2 seating spots on each couch. That's 8 spots to sit and it looks quite elegant, I think it's absolutely perfect. For people who can't get into Myon, this is what it looks like, it's wonderful:

I can add chairs in, sure.

As for fitting art into the city. With both Myon remaining, and Elven Quarter of the city also very large, I don't think there will be any problems with available space.

I managed to get one of the new quarters for myself, and I'd just like to echo Party in saying that Anatida did a fantastic job with them, but...

210 fixtures seems really, really low considering the sheer size of these quarters and how free of hard built-in fixtures they are, since all 4 estates share one zone with the new big major public area.

The Myon Barracks is basically only lightly decorated and it's already like 25% over its fair share of the fixture count.
what would fred rogers do?

There is a max limit, and obviously the current value is way above the universal 60 we had not long ago

I'll add in chairs and possibly a few more baked fixtures for now, and look at possibly raising overall number.

The central public hall really has very little space for fixtures, so I think 45 each per quarter should be plenty, leaving 30 for the hall itself, which personally I think would be ruined with so many.
