Cavalier feedback.

Post by Dreams »

Good:
Variety of weapons, variety of effects for different weapons, all very cool.

Bad:
We don’t need specific weapons if other weapons are able to be used, the class was already incredibly overpowered when used to nuke’n’run and now it’s much better, the Spirited Charge mechanic was already broken and works far more often than it is supposed to (procs almost every single hit) which makes all of these effects almost guaranteed at the moment.

RP only starts at 30 if you're a coward.

Keep in mind the crit damage has been toned down to at most 340 (for lances and select cavalry weapons) from 390, the rest are in mid 200s, the regular non-crit damage is around 150 or 180, except for lances.

Edit: Though the crit multiplier is going to be toned down further by 25% compared to the announcement numbers, and then raised back up with 5 levels of WM that has matching Cavalry weapons. Non-cavalry weapons will not benefit from WM levels for Spirited Charge.

The CC effects, except knockdown, can also be countered by mind-immune spells, this includes clarity potion and mind-blank variants.

The non-cavalry weapons generally have worse performance overall compared to the cavalry weapon for Spirited Charge purposes. (The 2H non-cav weaps have the same damage as some 1H cav weaps and without the debuffs, they also don't scale with WM feats, etc.)

Last but not least, KD is guaranteed if the charge lands, but even then, the KD from the charge is only available to the bludgeoning variant of the cavalry weapons, which have a lower damage multiplier and less average charge damage overall.

Here are the calculations that were discussed extensively, now it's just testing on live servers to see how it is 1v1 and in group situations:

For you, the day Kenji overhauled your class was the most important day of your life.
But for me, it was Tuesday. :face_with_monocle: To-do list

Yes, it should show up on your feat list.
