Fixture limit Guldorand/Free Port
Hey all,
Currently both main areas of the new city have a fixture limit of 15, despite being massive! Could we please up it a little to allow for some more player fixtures?
Appreciated!

I suspect that the limit is intentional, to not clutter the city with tons of custom assets. Guild house and quarter limits have been raised while wilderness has been reduced.
As harsh as it is, you might have to steal something player-placed to make space for your own, if you deem yours to be more important than theirs.

One of my favorite things about the new city is that there isn't a vomit of shop signs or whatever all over the place.

I'm more thinking about the ability to perhaps place a few extra chairs and tables for social interaction. I'm not a fan of endless signs and statues that barely get used or examined more than once. I feel 30 fixtures would be a more flexible amount for this purpose.

I also like that there's no chairs, it should encourage people to go into inns/taverns more and use them for their intended purpose. I have noticed more people in the Eagle than most other taverns on the server, so maybe it's working.

No more main-square couch meetings, the streets belong to the pedestrian!
Re: Fixture limit Guldorand/Free Port
I have a very conflicted relationship with player fixtures. I absolutely adore the creativity, and whether it is a painting or a workstation, I always stop to see what people are writing.
But then I also make areas with considerable care, and with a 60 limit some (especially in settlements) get totally blanketed in them. Relatively recently, as a player, I visited one I would say, from an artistic perspective, is just plain ruined. Everywhere I looked, just more and more fixture spam. I even had trouble locating the player shops under all the mess.
At least now I have an answer next time someone questions why so many dungeons have an excessive amount of broken furniture, likely it's just what they had to clear away to get in the door.
I hope settlement leaders can regulate this, limiting fixtures just to what is genuinely necessary and worthwhile. Goodness knows, some player fixtures are fantastic.
Anyway, to the question at hand - the limits on Guld. Anyone that has explored these will likely have noticed two things.
They are extremely rich, visually.
They have extremely narrow walk meshes
So yeah, excessive fixtures would absolutely be visual overload, and navigating your way around the city is hard enough as it is without forever accidentally clicking on someone's fixture.
If you are looking to make a fixture next, there are large open public spaces in the upper floors of the Eagle and the Indoor Market, as well as in areas like the temple.
And if I had to share any advice on placing them? Well, if I didnt add stone pillars to an area it is likely because I felt they'd look badly out of place. If you want to put fixtures in a highly trafficked public area ask yourself first - what are other players getting out of this? I'm sure I'm not the only one who stops to look at everything.

Re: Fixture limit Guldorand/Free Port
We currently have 4 fixtures in our alley-way which is pretty much 1/3 of the fixtures for the entire zone. I don't really feel our fixtures are out of place, or in any way go against the direction for the zone. These zones are massive and have lots of little side alleyways where people could put secret alters / message boards / graffiti... any cool RP objects. It would just be nice if we could keep our RP spot without feeling like we are unfairly stealing a large part of the zones fixture count for our RP spot. Thanks!
