This seems to be given for free to almost any base class at level up, but it doesn't seem to give it to barbarian when they level. Its made stranger when barbarians get it for free at level 1.
As a max intimidate barbarian I also lack this ability, it would come up as a pickable feat as I lvled up for skillmageddon but I did not pick it as I had not planned for it
Not sure why I do not have it by default, would use it if I did. I play Gromyr Foehammer Barb/Cav
Edit:
I made a brief research asking players, it would seem most who do have the Intimidate ability also have at least 3 fighter levels on their character.
Me and Aideen do not, perhaps this is a bug which affects everyone apart from fighters and newly created lvl1 toons?

Just to add to the confusion - I have a 21 barb with no fighter levels, she has the feat and I did not select it myself.
Was your barbarian 21 created after the intimidate ability was implemented?
I ask because newly created barbarians do receive the ability at lvl1, I checked.

Nope, she is a year old or so - I did not get the feat until she gained a level, after it was introduced first. Have had it ever since.

Oh, then the bug is so inconsistent, I can't seem to be able to say when it occurs
Suggestion: Could we have an NPC who will grant the intimidate ability? Should help all those who did not get it due to this bug. I'm thinking something like the "container reipairer machines", like an NPC who will only be used to grant the Intimidate "feat". Thoughts?
Using the -relevel command to do some testing. When lvl up as Fighter, my character gets the Intimidate ability for both Barbarian and Fighter classes on the radial menu. However when I -relevel again to return to my planned build (has no fighter levels), the Intimidate ability goes away. So releveling does not help.
The ability seems to be given freely upon lvl up on all classes who get it as a class skill, it just will not become available on *some classes which should get it*
Classes which I can take which get it freely upon getting class lvl 1:
-Fighter
-Ranger
-Bard
-Rogue
-Cleric
-Swashbuckler
-Favored Soul
Classes which I can take which DO NOT get it freely at lvl1, even though they should since its their class skill
-Barbarian
-Cavalier
-Divine Champion
Since 2/3 above are prestige classes and cannot be taken as lvl1, I can only say that new lvl1 Barbarians DO GET the skill ability, even though multiclass barbarians do not. This contradicts DeepDarkTruth's observation on their Barbarian, though, who did get the ability on their barb even though the PC was created before the skill ability was implemented, but received it correctly upon lvling up after the intimidate rework (unlike my barb who did not).
Anyway this is all I can scrounge using the -relevel command and making new characters
