Can't summon ranger animal companion

Try to summon ranger animal companion.

Animal companion is summoned.

Actual result
-------------------

Combat log reads: "[Name of Character] summons animal companion, but no summon appears. Summon animal companion icon immediately refreshes.

I recently switched animal companions upon leveling up and this is the first time I've tried to summon the new one.

This is a bug that has been happening for awhile now, in fact. I'd say for over a year. I've had the same issue, where i'll try to summon the animal companion and nothing happens after several attempts. I usually fix it by moving to another location just a little further away and that seems to do the trick. I find it happens almost always at Saltspar near the portal, so it may be a location issue? (It happens in many other places too, but I find it most consistently bugs out there, or maybe that's just where I find myself summoning the most).
This issue also extends to the cube summons. I've lost many cube tubes that get used, but nothing gets summoned.
I believe i've also fixed the issue by toggling the associate tool? Or at least I recall having fixed it before doing that, but it doesn't consistently work as a fix.

It happened to me in Skaal yesterday, in the area outise the mine I think, abandoned quarry.
It showed the usual message, but no wolf.
It failed the first time, but I tryed it again and worked.

Curious if it's occurring when trying to summon too close to an object or wall similar to the bug that familiars face.
