(spoilers) "No Surrender, No Retreat": Monetary Reward

Post by Void »

It feels like monetary reward for "No Surrender, No Retreat" writ is too low.

It is a large dungeon in no rest zone, behind several dangerous no rest zones, and to get to it you'd need to go through another dungeon.

The reward for delaying inevitable impending doom is... 5k gold pieces.

It doesn't feel right.

On related note, trying to sit in the chair at the end was disappointing. The thing simply tries to fry character's brain and that's it. Would be nice to have some flavor dialogue. Of course, maybe the dialogue is there, but I just didn't meet some sort of condition.

If this is the dungeon I believe it is, the chair has a whole system and mechanic behind it that requires IC investigation!

Well. Our party took turns frying their brains in the chair, chucked a few axes into the thing behind the window, regretted that it did nothing, nearly blew themselves up with a trapped box, then left after wrecking anything they could in the place. I honestly felt sorry for the <redacted>, but at the same time it was hilarious.

It is entirely possible that there some IC clues were missed, but like I said, a HUGE no rest area behind several other huge no rest areas behind another dungeon.... so at the end of the journey even though the party was not heavily dependent on spells, both spellcasters and semi-spellcasters were out of magic, my character was out of rest meter. That's one of the reasons why I think the writ could use a higher reward.
