- First, shift-walking bugs out, and the game thinks I'm targeting a creature. Alright, no shift walking.
- I fall into a shark pit in the troglodyte stronghold.
- I fight a shark, and lasso named mini-boss yellow-name shark to sell.
- Then I go upstairs, the shark happily swims mid air. (but that one's normal)
- At some point character steps into a trap, and a moment later speaks a chat line I did not type. ("Naw they know me b'cause of my actions!")
- After that the shark becomes the party leader and changes its portrait to blank black frame. The rope disappears.
- That lasts till area transition, rope reappears.
- Except now my commands control the lassoed shark. And not my summon.
- I try to control the roped shark into safety, but it refuses, and goes to attack nearest enemy.
- It dies gloriously in my name and goes to shark valhalla. I guess, no money from selling the shark-slaves for me...

General Weirdness. (and Sharks)
Experienced right now. I can't summarize it well.
Another forum ban, here we go again.
Re: General Weirdness. (and Sharks)
Out of curiousity how was your internet connection at the time?
Years ago, for about a year, I was playing arelith on spotty DSL that dipped into modem range at times, and the absolute weirdest stuff would happen to me. Things kinda like this.
There were times I'd overhear entire conversations or randomly teleport inside someone else and be that character or blink to a distant inaccessible corner of the map - the list of bizarre stuff was endless and very inventive.
Maybe a consistent bout of extreme lag? I'm reminded of it.

So we're very much on track.

No issues. My internet connection is usually good, and if it dies, I disconnect and do not get a drop in speed.Skibbles wrote: Sat Dec 18, 2021 3:22 am Out of curiousity how was your internet connection at the time?

It did feel like there was some sort of server-side hiccup, though.

Re: General Weirdness. (and Sharks)
I've gotten similar after a massive lag spike. My party will randomly add in extra members, black portrait etc. Sometimes I can talk but can't send tells, some times can't do either. I always assumed it was caused by lag on my end causing a weird hickup. Always fixes when I relog.
