basin problems

trying to add Dex and Int and +2 leadership to an item just fails we have 30 fails in a row with 43% pass rate.

This is pretty much normal.

I had 20 failures in a row with 51% before.

It is a bit counterintuitive, but as they say "Roulette wheel has no memory". Trying multiple times in a basin does not increase chances of success, the chance is always the same on every try.

Meaning with 43% pass rate, you have 57% chance of failure. If you try 10 times then the chance that all attempts fail is 0.36%. However, every time you try the chance of failure is still 57%.

Get piety to 100%. 43% chance to succeed should proc a god save.

Many gods do not care about basin at all.

That 20 failures in a row with 51% chance of success I mentioned happened at 100% piety.

Employ a tier 3 dweomercrafter with a magic deity to get the best bang for your buck.

Other than that, yes... random is random. It's entirely possible to toss a coin 30x and get tails 30x in a row.
The odds are very low, but it happens.

All gods God-save dweomercrafting now, fyi, though it was not always this way.

Aren's advice should be right on. There's a 50% chance for a God save on a failed Dweomercraft which should greatly raise your chances of avoiding consecutive failures. Getting 100% piety should help.

However if you're still having trouble, even at 100% piety, I recommend waiting for a reset or going to another server just in case!

(Also the God save will not trigger if you've had another God save recently IE: got beat up in Pve and saved just beforehand)

Benefits

Every Deity provides the same potential benefits depending on what you're doing in-game.

When you die God raise
Crafting Non-5% Failed crafting attempt succeeds once per in-game day.
When disguised Pass a failed disguise check if character has 5 ranks in Bluff or Perform
Dweomercrafting Failed dweomercraft might succeed (50% chance of a failed dweomercraft succeeding anyway).
