Wild Dwarf Players & Dwarven Gods (I need u in the jungle)
Hey there. I have been really thinking about this and could probably get some general feedback for it by souless data but-
I'd like to know how many of you out there are following deities in the Dwarven Pantheon that are not Thard Harr and if you're a non-god divine class.
The reason I ask, is, I am thinking of dislodging them from the other members of the Morandinsamman in the same way that Duergar are - the Wild Dwarves are written as not even knowing who any of the others are so it could be a neat, thematic thing for anyone to take GoD and other exceptions.
But I want to make sure I don't impact anyone if there are a lot of wild dwarves who do not as its a small thing.

Not sure if relevant, but when i played one back in 2019 or so and we had like 6 wild dwarves grouping up at one time (something i havent seen again), all of them were strickly about Thard Harr, no matter the class.
Can't say on wild dwarves currently. BUT i do know that there are a couple of shield dwarves that also follow Thard Harr. Shamans, rangers and the like, that don't go for Marthammor Duin. Something to take into consideration i guess.

Thard will still be universal for other dwarves sans Duergar but I thought for flavor purposes and to show their hyper focus it'd one way for them.wulfburk wrote: Sun Jan 09, 2022 5:28 am Not sure if relevant, but when i played one back in 2019 or so and we had like 6 wild dwarves grouping up at one time (something i havent seen again), all of them were strickly about Thard Harr, no matter the class.

I forget who played them, but there were 3-4 Wild Dwarven Malarites bouncing around about a year and a half ago.

That would be fine because Malar isn't restricted - this has to do with the dwarven pantheon.Dreams wrote: Sun Jan 09, 2022 6:15 am I forget who played them, but there were 3-4 Wild Dwarven Malarites bouncing around about a year and a half ago.

Going to be doing this soon™
dwarf category = gold, shield, grey
gold & shield = gold & shield only
future = wild dwarf only has thard harr for free, rest are GoD for 'weird stuff'

Re: Wild Dwarf Players & Dwarven Gods (I need u in the jungle)
This only applies for divine classes right?
My only concern is that it might restrict a players ability to grow their character. If you are in or around Brog, or on the island at all, you aren't very wild anymore. I could see these guys expanding their theology when you get to civilization. But for divine classes, I think it is fine

I think wild dwarf clerics ought to have access to the animal spirits without GoD.
I also agree with Archon that alignment wise this is limiting on an already niche race. Wild dwarves who are out of the wild are just as likely to be evil outcasts as Chaotic Good archetypes of their race. Maybe they could at least be allowed Abbathor worship.

They will!
I am only changing their interactions with the wider Morandinsamman. It means divine classes will need GoD at start if they want that to be an option later to say become a (thing) of Moradin.
The reason I am doing all this low numbers of wild dwarf players and how most of them tend to follow Thard Harr (accurate to lore) or some nature god that isn't restricted.
Wild Dwarves really just... worship Thard Harr and the animals of the jungle and stuff.
Thard will also still be an option for other dwarves (except grey).
