Insightful Strike & Spear

Swashbuckler's Insightful Strike does not work with Spear.
Since "Spear" is a finessable weapon, I would expect it to work with Insightful Strike.


Steps to reproduce the bug:
1. Be a Swashbuckler with the feat: Insightful Strike and at least a +12 Intelligence modifier.
2. Equip a spear.
3. Examine character sheet and weapon.

Expected Result:
The damage has been applied.

Actual Result:
Nothing was applied.

I searched through updates posts and spear's never made it into the finesse weapon category which would explain why it doesn't work

EDIT : Nevermind I just tested on pgcc and it seems to be affected by weapon finesse for AB but Swash bonus doesn't work.

Spears are finessable. There was an update to make all finessable weapons trigger swashbuckler abilities.

Spears aren't listed as finessable anywhere though. In the link you provide it doesn't mention it, neither does the wiki or any post on the forum.

But. DEX mod still gives AB when using a spear. So it's indeed finessable? I don't know

The update that made spears small also unintentionally made them finessable, that's why this was never announced or documented.

An experimental workaround was implemented shortly afterwards to disable finesse again, but it didn't work as intended, only disabling stuff like swashbuckler bonuses. I wouldn't personally build around spears until an official statement regarding spear finesse has been made.
