My HD is dieing... will have a lot of spare time being used in backing up gigas of things.
Then I will need to wait a bit to "farm gold" to buy a new one, then format PC... then install things...

That said, I may delay the progress for some weeks as I may lose everything suddenly and, due to the risk, the time invested may not be worth it.

Whyyyyyyyyyyy my dear HD, WHYYYYYYYYYYYyyyyyyyy............

Don't worry Yellena, we belive in you! Also, its a shame that your HD is dying, but its something that happens from time to time.
If you have a high enough charather, may I suggest a Kohlingen run? After that, you ought to have enough to purchase a HD!

The only solution is to become undeads ourselves.
Also, did you manage to fund the new HDD?

No one found out yet? A good rogue would find out. The answer was up there.

About the HD, I still didn't buy a new one. Helped family with some bills and I still didn't finish my research. I am considering two HDs of similar prices:
1) A 500gb normal one
2) A 120gb one with that new technology that is 10 times faster (SSD). Forgot the name now. I wonder if this one would worth it regarding performance, as my processor is an old i5 and I have 8gb ram.

Aside that, I may need to change my video cart. It was defective for years and I fear that it caused energy spikes that slowly hurt my HD. So for precaution, would be better to grab a new one too. Problem is... which one?

I'd suggest a 1tb HDD at minimum, unless you don't have -any- hard drive at the moment.
SSD is only really useful for your operating system.

Also, what CPU and GPU do you have?

Operational System: Windows 7
System: Intel
Motherboard: WBIBX 10J
Processor: Intel Core i5 CPU 750 @ 2.67gHz (4 CPUs)
RAM: 8192mb

Video Cart: NVIDIA GeForce GTS 450 ====> defective, causes sporadic random energy issues
Memory: 4049mb
Integrated RAMDAC (whatever it is)

Right now I only have this "Near Death" HD. It may be better to use a normal HD. You are right on that. The other is still too costly and this may change in incoming months.

Referring to this?

Or this?

I am sure people asking is annoying. I, for one, don't really care and do not want to pressure anyone about anything concerning a game. Just having a hard time understanding what is being said here. There was alot of excitement about this update and I think folks are just foaming at the mouth to play characters based around the update. *shrugs*

Is it ok if we use the Rothe animal companion without ever being to the underdark? I've seen some in the mountains in the wolf cave, and have been using that to sort of base my explanation for having one.

Hey, it's not your fault they changed out the dire wolf on you for that monstrosity. Besides, it's not a rothe. It's a battle yak.

What is the bird companion now? And, if still a bird, what color is it?

I have a suggestion for the Shadowdancer companion.

Instead of the shadow fiend as it currently summons, which both implies evil undeath for a Shadowdancer which could be any alignment, which also pretty much sucks compared to.. Everyone else's companion now, let it summon a shadow mastiff that scales with level, like the other companions, and amplifies with the feats.

I was instead hoping for a character-appearance clone with shadow shield and concealment VFX.

SD summon won't be an undead anymore. Name and lore will upgraded to reflect something else. It's the first thing I took into consideration when designing the cew creature. ;)

That is a nice idea. Will check if it's doable. Would fit very well the other SD/Illusionist perks I had in mind regarding the summon. ;)

Question regarding Shadows.

Will illusionists gain any bonus for summoning the shadows etc?

Curious as to whether or not being a shadow illusionist wiz/sorc will ever be comparable to conj based wiz/sorc as far as summons are concerned.

Illusion as a spell-school is somewhat lackluster atm anyway and variety is always good!
