Sencliff writ xp is too bad, RH writ xp is too good.

Post by Babylon System is the Vampire »

I just turned in three pirate writs, the three for kholingen. All three got me a total of around 6k xp. Turning in the two writs from the normal writ guy (that doesn't require doing the two hardest bosses mind you) got me 5k each, or 10k total. I don't remember the exact numbers from the RH, but an easy example was when I got 6k for killing the swamp hag. Something I can do as a level 8.

Maybe I'm just crazy, but these numbers seem waaaay off.

I havent done the Sencliff writs lately, but the RH writ rewards are indeed bonkers.

RH writs are also some of the most outrageously difficult in the game, i mean there are quite a few where you actually have to go to the friggin Abyss for god's sake lol.

A very large chunk of RH writs are ones you can do while doing others. So you can double down and do both at the same time. A few at the end of the line are harder/solo-writ but can all be easily done Solo (with possibly the exception of the Styx dragon based on your build).

RH writs give huge XP and it should be toned down. Many of them are also easy and done while doing a writ for the exact same objectives.

Frankly, if the writs aren't available to everyone, they should give 0 EXP and gold. You get other things by doing these.
Katernin Bersk, Chancellor of Divination; Kerri Amblecrown, Paladin of Milil; Xull'kacha Auvry'rae, Redcap Fey-pacted; Sadia yr Thuravya el Bhirax, Priestess of Umberlee; Lissa Whitehorn, Archmage of Artifice

Well, you don't get nearly as much for the pirate writs as you do for the RH writs, since the dread perks are minimal at best compared to a free 5% ring. But i don't disagree that any extra xp is a bit of an advantage for either group.

I'm a bit conflicted by this. I do get where you're coming from, though I think for Sencliff at least you could be playing a character that might not make as much sense to be adventuring in and around Cordor/Brog. Often I'll do the Sencliff land-based writs instead of Cordor/Brog then start doing Crow's Nest after that.

My personal ideal would be the early land based writs to be normal writs like any other starting spot (and thus counting towards the cap) then the sea writs could all be grabbed at once starting at level 16 or 21 but only boost rank, no XP or gold. That way you're not playing a guessing game of what sea writ to grab versus RNG and have more reason to sail with others.
