Sib bank shops not going up for bid
Description:
I'm pretty sure the shops in Sibayad bank are not going up for bid. I've suspected it for a long time, but a property I've had my eye on lately suddenly is owned by someone else, I am very certain I checked the shop within the last 3 days.
==========
Steps to reproduce:
Wait for a Sibayad shop to release.
----------------------------
Expected result:
It to go up for bid.
-----------------------
Actual result:
It does not go up for bid.
-------------------
Which Server(s)?
Distant Shores.
------------------------
Gaming Platform(s)?
PC

Re: Sib bank shops not going up for bid
As these stores have a purchase price of less than 5,000gp, they do not go up for bid. Instead, once they go up for sale anyone can purchase them outright.
This is an element of the current system design, and applies to a small number of stores on the server (including all temporary stores, and some permanent ones).
The same occurs with quarters with a purchase price of less than 20,000gp.

I was told to put this here as a bug report. I understand how the system works. This is a shop in a prime location, it should be going up for bid but the price value is too low.

I'm pretty sure Crow's Nest shops aren't going up for bid either, unless it's possible for the bid timer to have under 2 days time on them. I try to go to the crow's nest and check shops every day, missed yesterday, and today one shop has a new owner.

Re: Sib bank shops not going up for bid
So I know the two shops -inside- of the Crows Nest officer nearby go up for bid when left alone long enough. I'm not sure about the ones outside. I have noticed they get bought up without going up for bidding, though.
That said, does it have anything to do with how they're released? I've noticed theres essentially two options now for getting rid of property: putting it up for sale and straight up abandoning it. Does this affect whether or not something goes up for sale right away/up for bidding?

Re: Sib bank shops not going up for bid
I think there's several other good/decent areas that are not going up for sale. The two you mentioned (Sibayad and Crow's Nest) and also Threadstone Locks, some Cordor shops (building in outskirts) and Old Wharftown (less good).
I'm not sure why this gold threshold to enter the bidding system is needed or what it adds, especially for shops. What's the problem with bidding even on remote places? You enter the auction and if you're the only bidder you win.

I agree, it'd be simpler if everything went up for bid. Ships currently don't go up for bid which is really weird, those definitely should be going up for bid.Quidix wrote: Tue Apr 26, 2022 5:09 pm I think there's several other good/decent areas that are not going up for sale. On topic though, in Guldorand the quarter next to the clock tower doesn't go up for bid. The interior is as nice as a lot of properties that do go up for bid.

Re: Sib bank shops not going up for bid
^ As the last person who owned the clocktower quarter before putting it up for sale...this relates to my previous question.
Instead of putting it up for sale/bidding by choosing the "sell property" option, I immediately selected the "abandon property" option and it seemed to bypass the bidding process and put it up on the market for sale.
I will confirm that I didn't bid to get that property, though. It was just available with no bid process up and running when I bought it. Which I thought was wierd, but it was tucked in an out of the way corner, so I wasn't sure if it just hadn't gotten any bids.
