Items Not Automatically Stacking
Description of Bug Experienced:
I've found two items that don't like to automatically stack. Yarrow Leaves never automatically stack, whether from picking them out of plants or taking them out of my herbalist bag. I have to drag them all together manually. Healing Draughts sometimes stack; specifically the extra 5 from Brew Potion don't like to play nice with the rest of the stack. Again, I can manually stack the items as needed.
Steps to reproduce the Bug:
Pick up Yarrow Leaves or bonus Healing Draughts
Expected Result:
Items stack into their neatly organized spaces
Actual Result:
Unstacked, messy inventory.

Re: Items Not Automatically Stacking
Yarrow has an activated ability and so allowing stacking by default is actually problematic for newer players as they will consume an entire stack at once otherwise. Given what it is, a lowbie healing item primarily, this shouldn't be changed item wise.
I did however put in a settings option for stacking, look in the rest menu settings.
If you flip it to allow stacking it will remove the no stack from items in most cases described.
As such, while not perfect, this is atleast away for players to control the outcome.

Except that because it's a single use item, it only consumes one item per use even when stacked. I just double checked this. I took a stack of two and used it and it went down to a stack of one. That problem only occurs in items with charges where it uses charges of the entire stack.Sincra wrote: Sat Jul 16, 2022 4:36 pm Yarrow has an activated ability and so allowing stacking by default is actually problematic for newer players as they will consume an entire stack at once otherwise. It's also worth mentioning that other lowbie items which could be such a problem, notably Lifesaver Salves and Medicine Bags, do automatically stack.
I searched the rest menu and couldn't find anything relevant to the item stacking. What and where is this setting, if I may?

Re: Items Not Automatically Stacking
Something may be going on with this. I've noticed a bunch of things stopped stacking recently too.
Dragon hide and coal comes immediately to mind in my own storage - neither of which have a use option. I have two mild stacks of each, but they stopped combining for reasons I can't figure out. I was thinking on making a report about this too.

So we're very much on track.

I looked in settings for this option, and didn't find it. The only one I found that is similer is under Container for "Items removed from a container create a new stack", which doesn't address the issue of picking up Yarrow and stacks being all over your pack.
Can this be looked at again? Won't someone think of the herbalists?
