Assembly template and their repair

Post by xf1313 »

After playing my archer and using the template to enchant arrows for the first time, I have to say, assembly template is a must have for archers! Suddenly one’s damage is tripled if not x5 (depends on the class and level). However, that is the most easily damaged gear I ever had.

1, it starts with 30ish charge, but cannot get repaired like everything else (in workstation and just spend crafting point). I am not sure about the reason for this design? Oh I really really hope this can be repaired without being forced to carry repair kits

2, just to add on to no.1, it loose one charge per 100 arrow. So a set of carpenter kit ~ 2500 arrows. It feels a bit fragile, and there is nothing to stop it from self destruction when it is out of charge.

when they go below 30 the first time and then are repaired they only go back to 21 charges if i remember right so you just have to keep track when you actually make your bundles before it goes kaput to make those repairs and save your template.

It's been a while since I last used them so no conclusive answers from me, but if I remember correctly, you can repair templates with Stable slots on them. You have 30 charges at first, and every time you charge it with an unstable slot it will gain 10 charges with that unstable slot, making you 1k arrows. Then you need to recharge the unstable slot again in order to use the next 20 charges left. Ultimately making you 3k arrows before it actually needs repair. Unfortunately to actually repair those charges once you drop to 0 you need to be a carpenter or a smith (even if the template was made by a carpenter). Standard template work the same but cannot be repaired intentionally. Glad to be corrected on any of this, it's been a while.

Repair kits work on the repairable templates so it's a good idea to be well stocked on those.

So, there are multiple types - the two most useful ones:

Standard
----
Has 3 slots for unstable (temp essense/spells)
Can make a total of 3000 arrows (using a total of 9 essenses/spells)
Non-repairable

Stable
----
Has 2 stable slots for permanent essenses (typically +4 or +1d6 of a damage type) which do not degrade
Has 1 slot for a temporary essense/spell
Can make 1000 arrows for each essense/spell
Uses up one charge for every 100 arrows
Can be repaired by smiths and carpenters back up to 21 charges (made that way to leave one charge after creating 2000 arrows to avoid accidental destruction)

Yes, forgot to add, I am taking about the stable template. And yes, after damage it can only be repaired to 21 changes.

There was one time where I tried to repair with crafting points but did not work, however that bug is gone now. Might be something with a bugged workstation, hm.

The other option, the permenant template with 1 stable and 1unstable slot seems really attractive. Loosing one essence slot, but never have to worry about losing template...works quite nice when I tried it. Wiki has been vague about blessed bolts, the spell bless weapon has to be casted on a template, will not work directly on the bolt. Sun/moon domain are going to get the same result as everyone else (that is a shame really)
