Dweomercraft xp loss
I was dweomercrafting today to purposefully destroy items in a way more flashy than just tossing them into a trash bin, and I was hit with an xp loss. I had forgotten about this because all my previous crafting attempts were on level 30 characters and I didn't care.
XP loss on item dweomercrafting is one of those things driving people to race to level 30. Once you're level 30, you can dweomercraft and eat the loss no problem. For someone under 30, especially for someone like me who is leveling primarily through exploration xp and RPR ticks, this is a massive burden.
If I wanted to craft items for myself or others, I would have to find a level 30 or get level 30 myself first. Both of these facts encourage me to abandon my RPR tick leveling and grind to 30 before RPing: I want to be the person people come to, not just someone who goes to, and I don't want to lose 2 hours of xp ticks on an item.
Thankfully, this is one incentive that is easy to fix.
I suggest making dweomercraft similar to wands: take the xp and shift it to adventure xp instead of taking it away entirely.

Re: Dweomercraft xp loss
XP loss is exclusively on hard 5%. The reason people do it level 30 is because gold becomes easier to come by and just gets saved and Tier 3 dweomercrafting is hit in upper epics.
Frankly doesn't need to be changed because it's meant to deter people from just churning them out without significant loss.

I don’t think most people really strive toward equipment setup with hard 5% rolls other than maybe one or two pieces.

Here’s the wiki article on dweomercrafting. There is a specific reason for the xp loss, which is tied in to capping the level of power on your crafted gear. The system works as intended and should not be changed.

Re: Dweomercraft xp loss
That depends on the build, but as a dweomercrafter player I can say that the 3 stat, unisave, 1 skill whole gear setup (hard 5% with a masterwork rune) is a quite popular demand.Xerah wrote: Sun Sep 11, 2022 5:43 am I don’t think most people really strive toward equipment setup with hard 5% rolls other than maybe one or two pieces.
