Cornersneaking and transitions

Post by svet »

Hello.

At this point, I believe if you can fit hide/ms in your build with a decent score, you should do it regardless of whether you are a strength or dexterity based melee or even caster build. I consider it overpowered especially when the player knows how to properly put it to use when there's anything that can break line of sight even a little.

The particular issue I have with it is how frequently and consistently you can do it in a row if the area you are in allows it with transitions in mind. Presently if you transition first and then hit stealth, your enemy will lose line of sight and even if they somehow do not, the cornersneaker will have physical immunities which gives them ample time to cornersneak. This all makes it nearly impossible to fight one in such places.

I am unsure if this would be the proper way to deal with this issue or even if it is possible, but wouldn't it be appropriate to make combat tagged characters who transition be auto-revealed during the time they are immune to physical damage?

Good feedback and I agree. We've reached a point that stealth is being used more on str characters than dexers because stealth is so good that people rather slap it on their str builds "just because I can" rather than play dedicated dex based stealthers because dex is bad, under the philosophy that "I'll either get marked by a spot bot regardless if I'm a dexer or str, or just force people into chain-smoking true sight scrolls if they arent a spot bot." HiPS is the worst offender and is still too accessible imo.
