Making wax - what?
I guess while I'm here and giving feedback on the crafting system.
I'm flabbergasted by the recipe to make wax.
1 Alchemistic Catalyst (Lesser) + 1 flask of oil.
The oil I get, the catalyst? Not so much. Like.. wax is made from things like alcohol and fatty acids. Also certain fatty substances from animals can be used to make them. You can make all animal based products like beeswax! I know there are hive fixtures. There's some in the upper shyr farm.
Funnily enough, you can also make wax from plants!
There's tons of ways to make wax... I guess I'm just scratching my head.
If anything this should be 1 Spirit + 1 flask of oil. Or something like that. An amalgamation of plants + oil at a herbalism station.
It makes no sense to me that a catalyst is used for this recipe if only but to make it difficult to craft wax to make candles.

Right? So many ways to make this recipe. I feel like this would be a perfect use of items already ig.

I've read on a few occasions that there is an intention to make beehives, so I suspect this is only a temporary thing.
Re: Making wax - what?
Candelabras are now a big pain in the butt to craft, and it’s a basic light fixture most people need for quarters or other buildings. We need easier wax, please!
Candelabra currently needs:
1 Ingot (Iron)
2 Coal
4 Cotton
4 Candle Holder (Iron)
8 Wax
… ouch.

Re: Making wax - what?
Just to make sure you are aware the wax recipe produces 4 wax.
That is 1 lesser catalyst + 1 flask of oil = 4 wax.
That is 1 lesser catalyst + 1 flask of oil = 4 wax.
Re: Making wax - what?
I find nested recipes tiring.

yeah I never focused on how much wax it makes.msheeler wrote: Fri Sep 30, 2022 9:38 pm Just to make sure you are aware the wax recipe produces 4 wax.

It makes zero sense for the catalyst to be a recipe item in the recipe.. because there's plenty of other things used to make candles.

Re: Making wax - what?
This is more my actual complaint about the wax recipe!
A lesser catalyst + flask of oil means you need:
* A copper ingot (4 coal, 2 copper, a point in smithing or someone who can smelt it for you)
* Blood of a magical creature (easy enough)
* Glass bottle (requires you gather sand + coal to make glass, then use the glass + more coal to make bottles, also a point in art crafting or someone to make the glass and bottles)
* Harnak seeds (easy enough to gather)
* Glass vial (the same as glass bottle, but a different product)
In total, you're looking at what? Six or seven different steps here? Ones that span across smithing, art crafting, herbalism, and alchemy. And that's not even including the product that the wax is meant to turn into. It's kinda wild! (and tiring as Sincra said)
