Issue with War Priest path Divine Smite
I am currently a war-priest cleric endgame level 30, however when I use the feat divine smite, with my charisma modifiers going up with eagles splendor and pray to 16 (+3), I do not get any increased AB or damage scaling.
I am level 19 cleric. Whenever I use it, it only gives me +1 AB. There is a big scaling issue here that needs to be resolved as charisma modifiers do nothing to increase the AB and class levels are not registering at all for the damage or AB for that matter.
Therefore, it is quite a worthless feat compared to using whirlwind.

I suspect this post may fit more in the bug forum.

That is by design in part. Granted charisma warpriest is the best warpriest build so on average its actually a +8 AB attack when you go for it, but smite is flavorful adn not the focus. The rest of the warpriest cookies are the focus, being a better melee with divine synergy and 5*CL temp hp from div power, great attack progression, etc etc.HoarIsOne wrote: Fri Jan 20, 2023 6:33 pm I am currently a war-priest cleric endgame level 30, however when I use the feat divine smite, with my charisma modifiers going up with eagles splendor and pray to 16 (+3), I do not get any increased AB or damage scaling.

Smite isn't the focus of warpriest, you can build for it but its secondary, charisma warpriest already being the best means the AB bonus is generally higher on a properly built one, and finally good and evil domains getting damage scaling is because no summons means no extended gate.

Yeah, he's saying he is not getting his charisma to AB. This should be the case, no? Or do you need good/evil domain to get cha to ab? I know you need it for damage, but what about the bonus ab?Svrtr wrote: Fri Jan 20, 2023 10:09 pmThat is by design in part. It seems to be that they take issue with the smite scaling with charisma for the AB, and thus that their warpriest build isn't a charisma warpriest and so with 8 base charisma they only net +1 AB onto the smite when accounting for eagle's splendor potion.malcolm_mountainslayer wrote: Sat Jan 21, 2023 2:58 pmYeah, he's saying he is not getting his charisma to AB. I still firmly believe charisma warpriest is the best warpriest build, and that smite isn't the focus but is a cookie. Smite as is on warpriest is fine, as the normal attack progression:
0/-5/-10/0/-5
With haste and div power will mean that when you use smite you eat that last -5 to get:
0/-5/-10/0/+CHA
For a progression. Its fine if you don't build for it but smite as is on a warpriest if it scaled with wisdom would be insane. It scaling with charisma is fine, easier, and it promotes charisma warpriest, and should likewise still not be focused on for warpriest as a whole given everything else warpriest gains

I believe they're saying they get no ab at all with 16 cha, which should give +3 ab. But it's not entirely clear.Svrtr wrote: Sat Jan 21, 2023 5:50 pm It seems to be that they take issue with the smite scaling with charisma for the AB, and thus that their warpriest build isn't a charisma warpriest and so with 8 base charisma they only net +1 AB onto the smite when accounting for eagle's splendor potion.

Re: Issue with War Priest path Divine Smite
If they have a charisma warpriest and aren't getting the ab then it should be in bug reports since the cl scaling is only for damage with good or evil domain
Re: Issue with War Priest path Divine Smite
The good and evil domain do not scale properly with the AB or damage. I tested it on PGCC.
I put this on bug forum.
