We will file suggestions here that did not make the cut. Don't expect detailed responses, but the most common reasons are:

  • implementing the suggestion is impractical, or too much work for the gain
  • the suggestion is thematically against our design philosophy
  • the suggestion is too detailed/low-level
    Keep your suggestions broad and focused on RP benefits, please, not detailed suggestions of how to fix everything.

As someone who has unyielding antipathy towards the crafting system on Arelith (sorry devs), I would love for us to normalize not being a crafter. Crafting is for characters whose names end in "(Slave)" and I want no part of it. My suggestion is to add a gift or character creation option that either severely limits - or removes entirely - the options to allocate trade skills or utilize crafting points, in exchange for bonuses to Appraise and maybe also Search/Leadership. Maybe a +10 or something.

If you do not want to take part in the trade system, do not allocate your points. There should be no additional benefit for not allocating.
